#1 on chaps. Plus you just take them off and put them in your bike when it's too hot.

Diamond Gusset may be American made but they are too strident in their anti-union views for me.

This came up in another thread and there was a recommendation for 21oz Unbranded Brand jeans. Based upon that, I bought a pair and they are great. Very thick, (about twice that of Levis which are 12oz). They are a bear to break in, but that's a good thing for the protection that they will provide. They'll breathe better than the kevlar as well. Just another option to consider.

Any "regular" denim jeans are all cotton, and they will literally evaporate as soon as they hit the pavement. You might as well wear shorts.

For everyone wearing kevlar reinforced jeans, have you found any you like that come with armor pockets?

Yeah, mmmkay. Just leave the chaps on,and get the thrill of pulling them out of your *** after you go down. They'll be down around your ankles,or wrapped around your neck, after the first pavement strike. Like the ones in the pic below, double thick leather, one bounce at 65 mph,and gone. Leather over pants, over good riding jeans, like Xelement,or Draggin'jeans give real protection. The wreck never happens when you're all geared up,anyway.

I have sliders. The sliders fit loose. You can order Draggin in different cuts so you can go from slim fit to loose. I like to wear mine in all weather and when it is hot I like the loose fit in light blue as it is much cooler. Plus, sliders are $30 to $40 less than Draggin.

One of the good things about a loose fit is the ability to add thermal layers under the jeans.

Scorpion Covert kevlar jeans have pockets for knee and hip armor.
