Motorcycle Camping

I use Backpacking stuff. Good Backpacking equipment will pack light and small and will be remarkably durable. I've found the REI Half Dome II Tent to work quite well. They also have a 1/4 Dome which is for one person and it takes up a bit less space on the bike, but I like having a bit of extra space in the tent and if my better half comes along? Well there's room for her as well. Picture of the Tent in the picture is from Yellowstone after a day and a half of torrential downpour and snow and freezing rain (melted in this picture). Tent was 100% Warm and Dry! Nuf said! Picture of the Bike was from the same trip but taken in Yosemite.

Here is a pic of my bike when we left the Chip at Sturgis ! All nice and neat and contained. In the green bag is my sleeping bag, tent (Ledge Scorpion 2p) stove (MSR), cooking kit, canned fuel and utensils ! T-bag clothes and personal stuff !

I like it just fine. I was looking for a RAH when I came across this one at a price I couldn't pass up. The setup and storage isn't as good as others, but it hasn't kept me from camping any.

Small tent, sleeping bag. That's it. The second pic is in Zion National Park on the way home from a 3,500 mile trip through CO, NM, AZ, NV, & UT.

I camp from my bike. Clothes in one saddle bag. Cooler with beer in other saddle bag. Small 2 person tent, compact air mattress, fold up chair and sleeping bag strapped across rear fender and saddle bags. Oh and a battery powered radio for nights by the fire. What else you need?

At least once a year, my daughter and I take a weekend camp trip on the bike. Can get that Coleman tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, blanket and a weekends worth of cloths all packed nicely IN the bike. Okay, sleeping bag is rolled up on the luggage rack...

A Bushtec trailer is one of the best ways to travel when you camp. Its light and you can carry all the comforts with you WITHOUT the bike being loaded down and top heavy. Pulls with little to no effort. All your camping supplies and clothes are nice and dry when you get through those storms that always pop up when your on a trip.....
