For you big wheel guys

BIG Front tire bikes....
What's this craze with running at HUGE front tire on baggers now adays??? I think it looks rediculous and a complete waste of money. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it seems most of these owners must be blind. These bikes don't flow well at all. They look completely out of proportion. Just wondering everybody's thoughts on these.....

It's about expression. You all know that tho. It's been going on for decades. Think Captain America. Was that bike designed for optimal handling? No - it was about style and now the bike is iconic. If one of those big wheeled bikes shows up in a movie ridden by Brad Pitt and it gets an oscar, that bike will sell for a million bucks too.
I appreciate them and see it as a styling exercise that trickles down to the masses. My Street Glide has a 19 inch front wheel on it because of the big wheel bikes, and I like it. Might even go 21 because I think it will look good, still handle well, and not look stupid 5 years from now
But, like the fat rear tire choppers from not long ago, the big wheel bikes will fade and the next new thing will be.............(fill in the blank)

They did look stupid...We thought they were cool for a minute, but then most of us quickly figured out that they handled like **** and weren't very comfortable to ride.
How many bikes do you see set up that way these days?
I had a panhead that was set up that way when I was in high school and as soon as I could afford it I bought a new FXE and never looked back.

Yes, we did, and we still think they look stupid in 2014.
And yes, I think the big wheel look on Harleys is goofy looking.
I think there will be a lot of big tall wheels kicking around in the back of garages in a few years. Probably a lot of really fat rear wheels too.
Ape hangers will be leaning against them...

I think everyone is trying to go more extreme than the next guy and that's why we're seeing the large front wheels along with the tricked out accessories on these custom baggers. There are a lot of people who will pay top dollar for those bikes and the custom shops are eating it up! I think these trends are good for the industry as it show innovation. I'm more for the old school look, but to each his own.
