Default Selling parts at a fair price ?

Once my 30 days are up, I intend to put some of my parts up for sale. Is there a good rule of thumb like 50% of new as for what to ask for basicaly new parts? Not trying to sell parts in this thread, just curious on how to gauge the market.

its whatever the market on HERE dictates. certain items like Daymaker headlights sell used, close to 75% of MSRP. other items like pegs and grips are around 50%.

I said on HERE, because ebay and craigslist arent the best avenues for selling parts and making any sort of money off of them.

It also depends on how long you are willing to hold onto them.

This time of year is kinda good for selling parts, cause alot of people work on their bikes over the winter, so the demand has a slight rise; At least from what Ive seen.

You will also automatically get people low balling you. So whatever you want to get for the item, ask a little more.

whenever i sell something, if the item is just taking up space that i want to clear, i'll just give it up for postage. if the item is something i actually want some money for, i'll start at 50% of what a discount dealer sells it for, not msrp.....

but then again, i'm usually either trying to clean up some room, or to get some funds for a 'wanted' mod, not trying to augment my income

and that's half or less. most people know where to buy at 20% off or better with free shipping to their door quaranteed. Ebay has a bigger market. I pretty much give up trying to buy or sell on CL, I get no answers when I want to buy and be backs when selling.

Basically depends on the availability of the parts you're trying to sell.

If you're selling something anyone can buy just about anywhere, the right price will be the average price or lower than what it's listed for elsewhere. If you have harder to find parts, well then the price goes up.

Good advice.
As a new member to the board, I've already made a purchase here and will continue looking.
I'll just offer a consumers view,,
We're all looking to save money on items right? But I'm willing to pay a fair price for items, I know the value and I search the market for the best buy when I'm looking for something.
For the most part guy's here are very fair. There are few however that want to sell stock parts for just under what I can get them for at my local dealer. For me,, it's sometimes worth a few extra bucks to have an item in hand then wait a week for shipping.
There's no point in that for me as a consumer, I'm not going to spend top dollar because someone needs to "fund" their custom purchase off my back.
Those items don't sell, they just keep getting more "views" and bumped to the top by the seller or he drops the price.

Well, as an example, I know some people like to keep their exhaust stock or like stock. I'll be selling my CVO exhaust and I would assume that would be a "stock" upgrade for some people. Am I wrong? Either way, I have no illusions of selling used parts for anywhere new prices. I just haven't watched the market close enough to be in the right ball park. I'll figure it out though.
