Anyone Ever Had A Difficult Time Deciding on a Color?
I have about a month before i can place my overseas order on a Softail Slim, Im currently stationed in Japan. With that being said, lately i can't decide between a few of the colors available for 2015. Originally about 3 years ago when i started saving for the Slim, i really wanted the bike in Black Denim, but HD has since discontinued that color for the Slim. Right now, its a toss between the Vivid Black, Amber Whiskey/Vivid Black, Charcoal Satin/Vivid Black Satin, and Charcoal Satin. I know a major deciding factor would be to choose in relation to what my future plans would be for changing the bike from its stock form. At this point, i have told myself that i wont seek to install any upgrades until i've grown accustom to the bike and have it fully paid off. I do believe that i want to stick to the retro/minimalistic natural of the Slim...and stick to upgrades that aren't overly flashy. Has anyone ever been in this difficult position? If so, do any of you have any suggestions? I don't want to choose something that will grow into an eye sore and become boring...at the same time, i don't want to choose a color that everyone and their mom who owns a Slim is riding. Does anyone know if there are any pros/cons to choosing between a gloss or satin paint, concerning upkeep? Thanks for your input!

Ford wrote in his autobiography that in 1909 he told his management team that in the future “Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black" Same with bikes, I like any color as long as it is black

Out of 9 bikes 3 have not been black. Two VFR's as they only came in red, white and blue, and my current Super Glide Custom, root beer two tone. Was shocked I like it, but normally black is where it's at.

Can't ever go wrong with black. I've seen thousands of bikes with custom paint jobs and I have one. Still, there is nothing betting [to me] than a black bike with just the right chrome.
