IIRC BMW had a similar suit. Really spendy as most things from them are.

That areostitch has been out for a year or so and gotten rave reviews.

Truth is that a quality leather jacket/chaps/vest can be easily waterproofed using any one of several readily available products. I've been using Montana Pitch Blend Leather Dressing for years. My leathers do not absorb water, even in the heaviest downpours. I'd venture that a high quality leather garment plus proper application of the MPB Leather Dressing, or an equivalent product, costs a lot less than the same garment made with high tech waterproof leather. But hey, spending money on gear is always fun too.

Sure what you are doing is waterproof but it also is doesn't breathe. That's the real trick to be able to keep the humidity in the jacket down so you aren't hot and sweaty while keeping the rain out.

Not 100%, but mink oil does a pretty good job. I rub a heavy coat into my boots a couple of times a year, jacket once a year, keeps them soft and at least "water-resistant".

why run a teaser piece...wait until you have done your testing and have some pricing available. the product also needs to be on the shelves at the store--why waste time reading on something i can't buy? a few trips thru the automatic car wash should equal a lot of miles of riding in the rain. test it, price it, check availability, and then write an article on it. the article that was written was pretty much useless.

This is both waterproof and breathing (there are trousers too). Top notch quality all the way. Also quite pricey.
