RE: got 2007 - did u wish to got an 2006 instead?
I had reservations about buying a 2007, because it was the first year model, then I thought about it and realized because it was such a big change this was probably the most thoroughly tested motor and tranny change HD has ever done, they have never had the financial resources they now have, it's a competitive market, you can buy a Harley clone for a third less, but theywere in the drivers seat in a manner of speaking, they could have kept the 88 and 5 speed and it probably would not have affected their sales, they didn't have to rush a new motor or tranny to market to increase sales, so I think theytook the time to do it right the first time, so after thinking about it I went and bought a 2007 Super Glide, I couldn't be happier.

I got an 05 Road King with stage 1 and SE Slips- ons and I demo rode a stock 07 road glidelast week. Still like my bike, power seemed about the same, but the 6th speed was nice. Only problem was it was group demo ride and was stuck behind the demo rideleader doing the speed limit on the freeway didn't even get to 60 mph[:@], wanted to open it up and see how the top gear was at some real speed.

I absolutely Love my 07 RKC I have no regrets despite the little "quirks". Yes I've experienced a few problems. The tranny noise is no longer an issue for me it seems to have calmed since the dealer put Bel-Ray synthetic in the tranny and I installed louder pipes . But last fall my start button acted as though it was stuck ON, it would keep the starter engaged even when running. Turn the key on and pull in the clutch and yep, she would automatically start then you had to get off of it and reach down and unplug the solenoid wire before the starter fried or destroyed the gears. Tore the bike down for a thorough winter cleaning and it no longer does it,,,hmmmmmm. Now on a few occassions the neutral light will stay on through all gears except first.
I still can't help but love that bike though.
