RE: a local crackdown on pipes
According to this site, the MN state law says:
"Maximum Sound Level Max A-weighted sound level ranges from 80-90dBA measured at 50 feet (Sec.7030.1050)."
The web site is:

Hope this helps some.

Swen, watch out for North St. Paul, White Bear Lake and Anoka. These cities are startingto enforce their noise ordinances. Many other north metro communities are looking at enacting noise ordinances. The $hitstorm is comming - I'm going to replace my thunderheaders vs. pay the fines.

I can see if it is someone toolin' around town reving the motor, but to pick off people that are traveling through, I mean come on. They hear the sound for what, 2 seconds??
These are the same people that move next to the train tracks and then want the trains to slow down and not blow the horn, or move next to the airport and then complain about airplanes and jets. These people tend to **** me off.

Then they need to ban babies. They are louder than any pipe. Leaf blowers and lawnmowers need to be banned. The fart cans on all the ricer cars need to be banned. Why not just ban everything?

like someone else said, i see alot of honda type cars with huge exhaust openings, very loud
my harley isnt even that loud, just a nice low rumble but if i crack it then it does get a little louder, but i dont like the idea of just getting checked because i have a harley
in stillwater they always have a metermaid person walking and marking tires, then on the way back they check to see if you are in the same spot and ticket you, i bet that person starts to inspect the exhaust of parked cycles
thats another thing that would irritate me, its my car-dont effing paint chalk on my tires- i know they like to keep up with their ticket writing but i just dont like people touching my stuff

When they decide to crack down on the cars going BOOOM-BOOOM, down the road ways blasting MOTHER ******. MOTHER ******, then they can come talk to me about my pipes. Until then they can KISS MY A$$. Period!
