I have a set of basically bran new Bates Boots. I bought these and wore them twice. I do not like the Steel toe. The boots are a 9.9 on a 1-10 scale only because they have been worn outside. No rips, tears or problems with them other than they just are not what I like. A link to Bates' website is attached for the description of the boots. FYI, I don't know if those boots are gore tex or not, but Bates just wrote me to tell me WHY my spit shine doesn't stay on the boot. Specifically AFTER I asked them, if they would shine up and they said yes. F'em
