To do state to state transactions, you gotta send between two FFL dealers.

 

Yep. You can hook up the buyer and seller any old way, but the transfer must go FFL dealer to FFL dealer.Most will charge to run your gun through their books. Many also demand overnight shipping, which gets expensive quick. Ask me how I know!

 

So you will know about the overnight shipping, it's to protect your pistol from being stolen during transit. The faster, the better.
