You do a lot with a manual . And hate to be one of these new guys, lots of stuff on YouTube.
Jp has good video on charging. If it was really smoking than it's bad. I had one the underside melted visually inspection might go long way. Plus volt meter.
I think bf, needs to catch his breath, and relax. Walk away for day or so. Then return.

@98hotrodfatboy we live in upstate NY. @touchdown he actually knows a LOT about working on bikes.....and many other things. He's refurbishing his corvette from top to bottom himself and replaced everything on my bike himself.....this was just something he hadn't seen before and wanted to make sure it's what we thought as I'm a new rider so he doesn't want anything to happen to me

A good friend of mine was from Constantia, He moved to Policies in 91 now resides in Florida.. John Ayers.
Pickle is just south east of Hamilton, Colgate University like 3 miles.. Here's a map to get there.. 2 weekends about I was up in Bridgeport at ESTA Dragway.. Road all the way on the bike from long Island in one day .
