Like others said, clean up under the bike and all around it, start it up let it run a few minutes then check it out. I also think you need a new BF one that know how to work on bikes.

@98hotrodfatboy we live in upstate NY. @touchdown he actually knows a LOT about working on bikes.....and many other things. He's refurbishing his corvette from top to bottom himself and replaced everything on my bike himself.....this was just something he hadn't seen before and wanted to make sure it's what we thought as I'm a new rider so he doesn't want anything to happen to me

Welcome to the forum.
As others have said, don't worry too much about the oil on the floor unless you can hear the top end clattering (that's my word for the sound that a dry valve train makes) and the oil tank is empty after it gets warmed up.

And for the BF, if he's getting you on a bike, he's probably a keeper.

OP~ you might check the transmission dipstick. If it's dry, them ur BF drained the transmission and NOT the engine. This could explain why oil is coming out the breather hose. It's just over full. Check the dipstick on the engine, too. It might be way over full.
To verify that the engine has decent oil pressure, he might install an oil pressure gauge as there's a spot on the engine just for that. Your dealer has them for your bike. Nice bike, btw.

(Installing ridercoach hat now...)

Please don't "wait" to take real, professional motorcycle training. The range bikes used are disposable and have been on the ground, often. Let them take the "oopsies" and not your dyna.

I realize you don't want to look awkward in front of other people (that might look awkward, too) but it's better than looking awkward on that dyna, out in the real world. On the motorcycling range, awkwardness is expected. In the real world, not-so-much.

** Removing ridercoach hat now.**

As mentioned oil pressure gauge would make him feel good. I have the Arlen ness one fairly easy to install

Double checking fluid is good. Some evos have oil tank under seat, so less likely, but double checking is always good.

As said, evos with oil tank under seat puke oil on start up after they sat got awhile. I am not sure what that year had.

There's no reason for an oil pressure gauge on an Evo engine. If it makes enough pressure to turn off the oil light and keep the lifters pumped up, that all they need. A roller bearing engine needs volume and very little pressure.
All FXR's have the oil tank under the seat.

There's no need with an Evo. It just complicates things...
