Other projects got in the way this week, nothing to update. Waiting to mount the fairing bracket to the frame.

Slow progress, cleaned up some wiring and still waiting on the threaded bosses to get mounted on the neck to mount the bracket above.

My 83 doesn't have the bosses either so how do you determine the proper placement? I realize you can use the bracket as a guide but the placement on the neck would be somewhat arbitrary.
Also I would like to see how you dealt with relocating the wiring in the headlight bucket.

You're on the right track with using the bracket as a template. We have a couple FXR's with the bosses in the shop to use for placement reference. There's a fab shop across the street and we'll roll the bike over to his shop for the welding of the bosses.

The wiring harness is so butchered up from previous owners putting on the T bars and who knows what else, it's a disaster. I'm not sure what we're going to do yet - will have to see if the owner want's some kind of turn signals. I'll post some pics of it as it progresses.

After having a few other projects take priority we're back on the fairing install. The fabricator made a pair of mounting blocks for the fairing mount and welded them to the neck. Next up, install the mount and fit the fairing. Hopefully you have the threaded bosses on your neck.

That's interesting, I'll have to mention it to him. Thanks.

More progress today - we bolted the bracket to the frame and mounted the fairing for mock up.

The forks hit the bracket at full lock?
