No, the previous owner was the mechanic at the dealers sister, she had for many years he went through the whole bike a few years ago and she only put 4000 miles on it since then, it’s actually got 55k on the odometer. The paint is in better shape then the 2015 I bought back in January

I bought this 1982 FXRS on eBay last October. I flew out to Michigan and rode it back to Phoenix. The trip back wasn't completely uneventful. Front exhaust kept coming loose, oil leaks, and the chain kept stretching until I was out of adjustment and the bike was surging at lower speeds. It threw the chain in Scottsdale,Az. 20 miles from home after covering 2,000 miles. My wife came and rescued me with our pickup.

This picture is at my first fuel stop in Michigan. Above picture is after I replaced or repaired everything and gave it a good detailing.

Thanks guys.
I've spent a lot of time on shovels. This being a rubber mounted 5 speed made the journey easier.
I've found that most problems with shovels can be fixed with hand tools and parts from a Napa or Ace Hardware.
I also have friends along my route that would come rescue my dumb ***.
