Default Fork oil, what goes in don't come out?

Let me clarify. I changed fork oil (FLHTCU) last week using the quickie method, pulling the ignition etc. I had purchased 2 16oz bottles SE fork oil. Since it was really dirty I used 5+ oz out of each bottle as a flush. Let it drain til only drops were coming out. Installed plugs. Poured the remainder of each bottle into each fork leg, roughly 10.8oz each. Rode around for a week, and decided to change it again since it had been so filthy. (and so easy to do) I measured the oil drained out of each leg, nowhere close to the almost 11oz I put in. 8-9 at the most. There are no leaks. Is there that much residual left in the fork? And if there is are we overfilling using the maintenance manual spec which applies to a disassembled fork. Is the extra couple ounces if we fill again using manual spec for a disassembled fork dangerous, I didn't notice much difference in the ride or handling as other have reported? I let the fork drain overnight, last week same as I'm doing tonight. There's not much more than the occasional drip though so I don't think I'm going to see an extra ounce or two drain. Any thoughts?

Pump the forks a few times, you'll probably get more out of them.

Tried that, not enough to speak of, couple of drops at most. I'll just let it sit overnight. If nothing more I'll just put in the 10.8 oz called for, it certainly didn't seem to matter in my rides last week. I just wondered if anyone knew for sure about residual amounts left in the shock.

I found if i let them sit overnight i get very close to the spec and put back what came out. The only accurate way is disassemble and measure. Mike
