Default 01 FXSTD crash fix

I just got a 01 deuce that had a few low speed mishaps. Last one was in parade and scratched one fork tube, pos blew the seal, pos slight tween to risers, bent bar, and a few other small things. Rode it an hour home. Has high speed wobble. Front tire is newish. If I have to fix the front I was going to buy the trees and forks as one piece. Figured I'd upgrade, if I had to replace, with more of a rake. But I don't want to be unsafe. Looking for direction as to what has worked for others or understanding rake&trail enough to set it up correctly. Any help is appreciated.

Wink

As far as the wobble is concerned, that may be a case of poor tyre pressures, or even you holding on tight! As you know something of it's history you may have been holding the bars tighter than necessary. It is worth checking the bike over to make sure all seems OK and taking another ride - carefully!

Stock rake on most models is fine. There are two ways of changing that, either with a fresh set of trees, or cutting and welding the frame. You may get more help in the Custom section if you decide to change rake.
