Best Rear Shock Absorbers
First I scraped my pegs.
Then I started lifting my legs and cornering.
Slid on the exhaust a little this weekend but didn't lose it. Get the point?
I need to rise my bike up a lot:
Looking for suggestions on quality for dollar don't care about looks.
I have a 2006 FXDCI.

You will benefit from longer shocks. I went with Ohlins that were .6" over stock, plus they were set up for my bike, my weight and riding style. I don't scrape anything anymore, although I don't go as fast as I used to. Ride comfort and stability is vastly improved. These aren't the only shocks, but to get the best advice on this talk to Howard at motorcylemetal.com. He's a sponsor here and will spend a lot of time going over your options. As a forum member he will also give you a discount. And call him, don't bother with email.

Better quality shocks will ensure your bike is at the correct ride height, while you are sitting on it. Longer shocks will lift you up, quite obviously, however stock shocks tend to sag a lot, so you can benefit twice over with good quality shocks - proper ride height plus increased height.
I have Ohlins as well, from HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal. Give Howard there a call. He does Ohlins and also JRI, in various lengths, all custom built for you and your ride.
