Question Softail Tricks and Tips for installing a lowering kit?

I just bought an adjustable lowering kit for my 2009 CrossBones. Has anyone else done this that can offer up any kind of advice? I've attached a picture so you know what I'm talking about as I see there are different types of lowering kits.

Any help for this noob would be appreciated.
