rotors
Will be changing my rims next week on my '05 Fatboy to the Skullfire rims.Chrome exchanging the pulley, but, replacing the rotors has now become confusing, some tell me the polished OEM's will need repolishing later and to buy chrome rotors, saving moneyhere is not the issue, chrome rotors are $100.00 each, polishing and shipping rotors are about $75.00.Will braking take its toll on either rotors shine, chrome or polished, and is one pad better than another concerning chrome or polished rotors?

RE: rotors
I've never seen fully chromed rotors. I guess they are out there, but would likely peel. Most are just chromed center floating rotors.
Polish stainless will stay polished for near ever without any further polishing.
Either chrome or stainless will mar up on the pad surface. You can keep this to a minimum by using Kevlar pads. They leave a nice satin sheen.
These are my stock pads that I polished with sandpaper.

RE: rotors
Swept area will never retain that polished look. If they do, that means you're not using the brakes.
I would never use a chromed brake rotor. Chrome plating is fairly thin. Braking action removes surface material. One day you'll wear through the chrome and suddenly lose your brakes. IMO, that's a bad thing. But I could be wrong.
