Apes

I am 5'8" on the heritage in my sig pic I have 1.25" thick 16" gangsters. They come to just above my shoulder if I am sitting totally upright. As far as the pull back as long as you don't have abnormally short arms it should be fine at your height. I've never tried the flying apes so I can't really comment on them other than to say that with the extra pullback you will get a little more flexibility on how you position your bars. I had the same concerns when I was getting my bars last year and finally said *** it and bought the gangsters as I liked look of them more, ended up more than happy with them. A couple things to keep in mind with Carlini bars is that there is a pretty big differance in width between the 1.25" and 1.5 " bars, also I ended up going with a set of blems and saved 75 bucks, never was able to find anything wrong with them.

I couldn't ride with my stock bars for more than an hour without alot of pain/fatigue in my back and shoulders. I have a couple bulging disks mid back and a herniated disk in my lower back, that with a bum shoulder makes it hard to find a good position for me. The best I have found is apes that are around shoulder height, I can go all day long with these. I have my sporty setup similar with 14" apes, they are all I'll run. As long as you don't have your hands to far above your shoulders you should be good. That being said everyone is different, what works for me might not work for you. It sucks to take the plunge and drop all that cash on bars, cables, and wires in order to find out if they will work for you or not. Most people that go to apes end up liking them though from my experience.
