2012 SG rear shocks
on my 2012 SG the suspension in the back just sucks! i am looking into maybe new rear shocks, i have looked at the progessive and the olhins and both are quite pricey. i read an article somewhere about changing the oil in the shocks that it helps. i am looking to find a reasonable way to do this without breaking the bank. any suggestions from any one? Thanks

You own a 2012 SG? Ohlins are NOT pricey! They are pocket money. Phone Howard at HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal and talk things through with him. He offers members a decent discount and will custom build shocks to suit YOU. It's the only way to travel. Do it once, do it right, otherwise you will be messing around for ages.

I recently changed the stock air shocks to CVO shocks on my 09 SG because of a blown seal, and they cannot be repaired. Harley wants $250 for one air shock, and $275 for both. Not happy with the CVOs'. $560.00 I feel I wasted. They are very stiff, and on bad roads with pot-holes you sometimes feel like you have no shocks at all, and thats on the softest setting. I purchased a set of the stock air shocks off ebay for $130 and put those on. Ohlins seem a little pricey, but you have to ask yourself, what is a nice ride, and good handling worth to you.

just get progressive 944 shocks and be done! there 530.00 delivered and are as good as anything ive ridden. I recently rode my friends cvo street glide and the premium shock wasn't bad, it was way better then my street glide air shocks but still lacking. last night i stopped by his house and low and behold he had put the 944's on his cvo. He told me after ridding my bike he couldn't go back to his set up, and the premiums aren't bad so believe me if you bite the bullet you will be pleased. Im currently using the hd spring and am very pleased but may try the lighter one soon.
