After suffering through a season with a set of 440's that gave up the ghost I decided to upgrade my ride. Currently running progressive gas shocks in the forks I decided to give Ohlins a try. Sent an e-mail to Howard @ Motorcycle Metal and followed up with a call. We discussed my options and he brought me up to speed on the JRI alternative to the Ohlins. Based on build quality I decided to give JRI a go. Considered the equal to the 3-3 which appears to be very popular but could not resist the deal Howard offered me in the JRI equal to the 6-6. Single Tube, Hose Mounted Reservoir, Separated, External Separate Compression & Rebound Valving.

As many have commented Howard has strong service, always answers the phone. So very helpful. I mounted the shocks yesterday and ran them today. AWESOME. Understanding they will wear in the are game changing out of the box. Really made me realize how far gone the 440's had gotten.

does your RG have the antenna mount on the saddlebag support?

I helped a buddy mount his jri's on a SG and it was a hell of a time trying to mount the external part to the mount, I am not really crazy about how it mounted since the other side was nice and clean but we got them on.

 

lemme know what you think about the JRI's. i'm looking at them for my 98 RKC. they arent cheap, and I've been comtemplating whether they're worth the extra ~ $350 over the progressive 440's
