Default Fork Covers for Fat Boy

Just reaching out to any mechanics reading; are there ant safety issues to riding without the tin covers on the FL front end? I kind of like the look, but wanted to be sure this "style" wasn't a recipe for headaches. Thanks for the input guys and gals.

Do you have any pictures? I've been thinking about doing this too.

No none yet, I've just been thinking it over since I've been on a training deployment. I get home next week so i'll throwing some up here soon enough.

There`s a reason nobody runs without the cowbells on their bikes.

It looks like crap, like some of the bikes in the `60s and `70s when guys would just strip parts off their bikes because they thought it made it look like a chopper.

The bike has a classic streamlined front end now, you will not make it look cool by removing the covers...

Yeah, I can answer the question. There are no safety issues.

The tops of the fork seals will be exposed to the weather, but that is not a safety issue...

Ok, so my concern would be premature wear on the fork seals. I've see several different types of fork leg boots, would these do well to cover the seals and still give the exposed fork idea I'm thinking of?
