Difference between Roadking and Touring forks?
What is the difference between Road King and other Touring models front forks?
I had a look in my manual and it said something about Road King uses conventional forks on both sides.
Where would this come in to play?
I am asking this in regards to having bought 2x SHOWA Chrome Fork Lower Sliders meant for a Road King in hope of fitting them on my 03 Ultra Classic.
(SHOWA G5B3-10-L SA 5 and SHOWA G5B3-10R SA 5)
I had one answer that they would fit, and from all I can see all touring from 00 and up should fit the same sliders.
So question is what is the difference between the Road King front forks and the others, and where does it come in to play?
Thanks,
Ole H

RE: Difference between Roadking and Touring forks?
Sliders are the same on both bikes. Touring models with the fairing have the cartridge type on one side. Changed mine on my 06 R Glide and my buddies 05 RK during Christmas, no to complicated. Do Not take the forks completely apart, just remove the sliders and replace the oil through the top fill hole pumping the the shocks occasionally to keep them from over flowing.

Front forks springs swap on a Road king
Hi everybody.
Planning to swap the stock springs with Progressive this weekend (2006 FLHRCI). Whilst I'm at it I will put fresh Type E oil in.
I read the service manual but found nothing on just swapping the springs.
From what I can see by looking at the forks and triple tree it looks like I have to take the forks off the bike in order to pull the springs out and put new ones in. Am I correct in assuming this?
Anything i need to keep in mind in doing this? How much load is left on the spring with the forks drained and the bike on a lift?
Will the front end need realligning after installation or is it self alligning once all the bolts are tight and wheel/front fender are in place?
Thanks everyone for your advice.
Edit: Apologies, I was intending to put this into a separate thread.
