Default Whats a good price on the Sears bike lift?

Sears is running their yellow aluminum 1500 lb bike lift for 149.99 ($20 off) through next week. I plan to get one but I don't have to have it NOW. Just wondering if this is Sears' best price or if I should be patient. Thanks.

I got mine cheaper at one of their service centers. Bought 2 the boxes were torn up. In the store I have never seen them lower than $149.

I love mine.

You can buy a cheaper jack, and a better jack. Just not a cheap, better jack.

Thanks for the input. As far as the way you describe the quality, that's what I was thinking. I've had one of the red Sams Club lifts for about 5 years (bought back in the day when I thought "why not get a cheap one since I won't use it that much") and I've had problems with it since day #1. First I had to add a small C-clamp to hold the jack base in place. Then the rod connected to the release pedal bent the first time I lowered the bike. There are two "locks" that keep the lift from coming down but its impossible to get them either both up or both down at the same time. Not to mention the thing weighs a ton and is hard to drag around. This Sears lift sounds like it's the shizz and I've heard nothing but good things about it.

They have a 1500 lb jack at Harbor Freight for $59. I haven't used it, but I have seen it in person and it looks better than the red Sears jack. I haven't seen the yellow Sears jack but it's gotten alot of positive feedback on the forums.[sm=gobble.gif]

It's interesting you bring up the $59 lift at Harbor Freight. Aco-worker brought it up to me again today about it. DO youthink it's worth it? Is it built well?I'm real close to ordering one....I would just like to see if anyone else has one and what they think about it.

Harbor Freight does have the lift and it looks like a great price.

Read my second post above. I've found that in rainsuits--and now, bike lifts--you really do get what you pay for.

Those Harbour Freight Jacks are made pretty sloppy...a buddy of mine wasted his money on one. I bought my 1500 lb. lift through J&P Cycles for $139 + 50 shipping, and it's a solid, well made lift with wheels, a pedal pump, and a bar to pull it around with. You can also get Dyna adapters for it. With any lift you should spend the extra cash for good tie downs.

Maybe I'm missing something, but my red Sears jack works great on my '00 Classic. Run the front tire up on 2x4 and the lift works great. I'm sure the yellow Sears jack is easier to use if it clears the bike without having to use a 2x4, but also cost much more. Anyway, JMHO.
