Plus, compared to other pumps or gauges, you tend not to loose any air when you unscrew it off the valve.

The OP has a 2011 RK, why would you skimp on $20 difference for a HD pump?

Whatever pump you get, make certain that it is a lossless pump. The Harley shocks use very little air, and a typical pump releases almost all the pressure while you are taking it off.

Also, make certain the pump is a low volume pump. A high volume pump can blow the seals.

I picked up my Harley pump at a swap meet for $20.

The HD one is worth it. One of the few Harley products that actually do what they intend.

I too questioned the wisdom of purchasing what I considered an over-priced bicycle pump until I got educated. Like you I asked other owners about thier experiences and found that the Harley shocks use extreamly little air in thier system. The typical bicycle pump pumps too much volume. Use of a separate gauge guarantees lose of some air pressure. The Harley pump is a no-lose system that works wonderfully. I bought one and am damn glad I did. I am able to accuartly dial in the suspension setting I want to have on my bike. If you want accuaracy, go with the Harley pump or some othe pump JUST like it. If you don't care about accuracy, buy whatever suits your fancy. By the way, suspension settings affect handling and handling affects safety. Make your choice wisely my friend.

Doesn't Progressive make the HD unit?
Still, one of the few tools you will want to use regularly. One tool more important is the tire pressure gauge...now this is one tool to buy a quality unit. Doesn't need to be the Gucci/Abercrombie model, but it should be a quality unit.
Just my 11¢ (2¢ with inflation)
