Default Fork oil change EG

I would like to change my fork oil on a 04 EG. It has the cartridge forks. I'm told you have to pull the whole fork OFF the bike to change the oil... Anyone know if it can be done without removing the fork like the 06+ forks??!! Also, my Indy(only one for 150 miles) says he needs to remove the whole fairing to get to the fork caps. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure you can get to them by removing just the ignition switch and console...am I wrong here??

We have a new SuperLow and had the forks checked by our dealer, who had to remove them to check and change the oil, so it will be no surprise if you have to do the same.

Your factory service manual will tell you what is needed to be done! If you don't have one I recommend getting one before doing any work on your bike. Once you know the 'approved' way of getting to your forks you can work out short cuts.
