Riser Information and advice for Street Bob
Would appreciate any help that anyone could pass along. I would like to increase the height of my bars just a bit, however I am not sure that I am mechanically sound enough to change my stock bars to taller apes. (I would love some 13" though) At this point I am thinking of buying some risers off of ebay, but there are so damn many, I'm not sure which one's to buy.... Some questions 2006 Bob.
1. What size do I buy for 1" or 1.25"?
2. What would be the max size that I could buy without changing out any cables?
3. What size are the stock risers on a street bob?
4. Is this an easy project?
I will be looking for regular risers, not pull back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
jdog

RE: Riser Information and advice for Street Bob
diameter of bars are 1 inch.
height of stock riser is 2 inch.
theres no need to change stock cables with a 13 inch ape. i think just modify the brake line alittle. if you want the apes get them. if you can do the risers you can do the apes, the only way you will get better at working on your bike is actually doing it. i recomend when your a rookie working on a bike invest in atleast nicer craftsman stuff, a nice set is like under 300 bucks for a decent amount of stuff. cheap tools will only hinder your workmanship. (i.e. stripping, breaking cheap tools , etc.) cover your tank and fender with towels for dropped tools nuts and bolt etc, and take your time and think things out. get a service manuel also for any work for torque specs. get a torque wrench. torque to spec so you know its right TAKE YOUR TIME. there are nice 13 inch bars on ebay for under 100 good luck
