Question 1980 sportster front breaks

Ok, So i got this 1980 sportster and the front master cylinder is pretty much ****... i cant use bango bolt on it at all.... and would like to put a new break master cylinder on it, would it be possible to do that? do i have to use an old one, or can i just use one off the newer models?

will that fit the ignition light switch?
