FLHX front fender on a FATBOY ?

it is possible but its not worth it. I was at my local harley shop and in the service department they have a large box on the shelf and it is labeled "Touring front fender" So i ask the service manager, "What are you going to do with that box?" and he pulls it off of the shelf and throws it at me. Then he said, you caught it so its yours. I didnt ask any questions. I asked him to verify that this was a front fender for a touring bike and he told me he was pretty sure since thats what the box said. So i take it down and get it painted and give it back to him within a week and ask him to install it. He calls me an hr later and tells me its not for a touring bike, its for a heritage. Since he gave it to me and i had it painted he felt that he was obligated to make it work. Long story long. The tabs on the side of a touring fender that go to the fork legs stick out more than the tabs on the side of a softail. I believe the forks are closer together on a softail because he had to put spacers on the outside of my fender to make it fit. You would have to cut off the fender tabs and make new ones for the touring front fender to fit your fat boy.
