Default Good Tire in Bad Weather

I have a 2004 Heritage Classic and I’m still running my OEM Dunlap’s. I’m getting close to 15K miles and figure that I’m close to needing some new tires. I ride year round and I’m looking for some good wet weather tires. My last bike I went with Avon Venom X’s and was pleased with their handling on wet roads. I’m considering METZELER ME880's or going back to the Avon’s.

What is a good wet weather tire for the Heritage?

Thanks,
GC

Do the 880's dude. You will NEVER regret it. I've run three sets so far, 3 fronts and 4 rears. Avg 13-15K rear and have only worn out one front with 28K on that.

I traded the bikes with the other two sets at about 14K. Bikes were an '03 Ultra, and '03 Heritage, and current '04 Road Glide.

I do some long trips, but mostly my bikes are my daily commute vehicles from April Fool's (appropriately enough) until Thanksgiving (thank god I survived another season). I average about 18k a year. The 880's have never let me down. They are a better tire than I am rider, and I'm better than average.

Have an 03 Heritage Classic. Have ran Metzlers, Dunlops and currently Avon Venom X. Avon has been the WORST tire on my bike on wet pavement. Avons are coming off next spring with less than 3000 miles and going back to Metzler of Dunlop. Both were MUCH better (in my experience) than the Avons.

Just installed Dunlop Elite 3's on my 06 Heritage, and so far I love them. Haven't ran them in the rain yet, so don't know how they will be when its wet. A friend has them on his VTX and swears by them.

I just replaced my front with a Dunlop in September. When I picked it up, I rode it home in probably one of the worst rainstorms Ive seen here. It did great. I felt very comfortable riding on the wet road.
