03 softail rear wheel upgrade.. please help
I have an 03 Softail and want to widen my rear tire. I believe the factory is 150. Not by the bike at the moment to look at the rest of the numbers. Can someone please tell me what the widest tire the wheel and fender can handle. Is it 160? Does someone have a tire they can recommend? Will a 03 Duece rim and tire package fit on here with no mods? If not, what are the mods? Major? Please help. I am sure someone asked this before but I am new here and didn't find anything. I really want a wider tire but at the moment can't afford a new fender or any other major mods. Please help.

What's the big deal going from a 150 to 160, ya won't even notice it. Save up for a wide tire conversion...and do it right! You know that's what ya really want. Better yet, trade for a new softy with a 200. Check out www.hogpro.com and talk to them about what you want to do...they are the pros and know what will work for ya.

I like their setup but is a little out of my price rance at the moment. Maybe one day but for now that little bit will make a big difference to me. If I can put a Duece 17" rim that would definitely be my choice but no one has said it is possible yet...

RE: 03 softail rear wheel upgrade.. please help
I put a chromed Deuce wheel and 160 tire on my 2001Softail. My stock tire was a 130mm so a 160 was a huge difference. I plan on eventually changing out the fender and running a Screamin Eagle 180mm tire on the Deuce rim. Heres a couple links for ideas...

about half way down on the first link, I posted pictures of my bike with the Deuce wheel, hope this helps. But yeah a 160 is the largest you can fit under the stock fender, you can squeeze up to a 200mm tire in the stock swingarm with either a chain or a 2006-07 belt and pulley a 5.5" rim and a 9 inch fender.
