Default raking the front?

i just bought a 97 1200 custom and its a running project. one of the things i want to do is rake the front to about 35 degrees. ive heard and it makes since that this will compromise the integrity of the frame. but on the other hand this is something i want to do. i would also like to put a larger rear end on it maybe a 250mm tire, so would it be easier to just buy a new frame or do each of these projects seperately? any advise or tis would be appreciated

If the rake job is done correctly it won't compromise the integrity of the frame. There are kits that will replace your swing arm for a bigger tire. J&P has one that is made for a 240 tire. Cost is nearly $1k. A custom frame is about the same price.

Remember to make sure you have the proper trail for the front end or it will not handle properly. The bigger the tire the more power it takes to turn the wheel so your out of the take offs may suffer.
