Default Kuryakyn Pegs Question

I've been looking into either the Kuryakyn Switchblade footpegs, or some of their other ISO pegs with stirrups. Does anyone have any feedback on either of these? Do you like them? Do you have problems with the stirrups scraping when cornering?

I'm looking for options to make a softail more comfortable for long trips, so I'm also looking at the Kurykyn Highway Cruise Peg Mount. If anyone has any feedback, pictures of your bike with any of the above installed, etc., I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

I have the hiway pegs with stirrups on my road king and really like them. I don't think you'd ever have to worry about scraping them. I have mine set where the stirrups are right in front of my floorboards and I can either put my foot all the way up on the pegs and use the stirrups for my heels or just slide my feet forward a little and put my toes on the stirrups and let my heels rest on the floorboards. I really like them. I would kinda like to try a set of boards in their place like bounty hunter has. I think they look great. Stafford

Stafford, thanks for the reply! I'm looking to use them in place of the forward control pegs, so I think the setup I would be running is a little different than what you've got. One of the main things I dislike about the pegs I have now is that they don't seem long enough. When I try to change the position of my feet on the pegs, they just vibrate off the ends. I don't know if stirrups would help give me have some additional positioning options or not. I've looked for longer pegs, and haven't been able to find anything significantly longer.

I put Kuryakyn Retro Pegs with stirrups when I moved from mid mount controls to forwards on my low rider. I also put stirrups on the passenger pegs as well. My daughter loves 'em.

Do they scrape? Um, well, I have a Low Rider that I ride aggressively in the twisties, so the short answer is yep. Do they scrape any more or less than anything else. I don't think so. Low Riders are notorious for scraping.

I don't have any problems with scraping pegs, just a cost of ownership.

YMMV

Thanks for the reply, you wouldn't happen to have a close-up picture of your pegs with the stirrups would you? I'm trying to get a feel for how low the stirrups are, and now they look installed.

Thanks again.

I have the switch blades which are good because you can flip the heel rest into place or out and use them like a regular foot peg. The problem with them is that no matter how tight you make them, they will eventually spin. I used a cold weld to stop the spin.

I have the ISO pegs with stirrups on my nightrain ,lowered 2" in the rear . they will not rub!! I like them alot, but you do feel the vibes from the bike in the stirrup but not the pegs? the pegs are "iso-lated" but the sterrup is not ????go figure! like i said "I like them!"[sm=smiley20.gif]

Thanks for all of the replies. How do you like the switchblades/stirrups for long trips? Do you feel like they give you enough options to change your position for long highway miles?
