Default Fork Spacers?

OK....I'm a fairly portly fellow.

Nah - scratch that - I am rather rotund.

Nah - that doesnt quite fit, lets get real. I am A FAT BOY.

My forks on my FXD compress more than what I would like. Has anyone ever made spacers for their forks that go in on top of the springs?

I knew some guys who did that on dirt bikes before.

Have you tried adding more fork oil to give them more stiffness?

And what's the old saying, you're not overweight, you are undertall.

Try Progressive Springs. Give them a call and explain your "size" delima. They may be able to help you. Stiffins the ride and helps with handling. I have a set on my glide to lower it but you can order stock sizes.

If that doesn't help enough, try heavier grade fork oil, lots of people recommend it.

You can add the spacer which will increase your preload, but the forks may be harsh under full compression hits. If you add a short spring (like the rebound damper spring) on top of your stock spring you will add a more "foregiving" preload. The advice to contact Progressive is right on as they will have loads (no pun intended) of info on preload. You can also try Racetech.com. I have their lowering kit in my Road King forks (which utilize a combination of springs and their "Gold Valve" cartridge emulators) and it is a great performing suspension
