I recieved a license plate relocation kit from soft brake for christmas. The tag plate and frame are to small to house the maryland tag. Is there a legal resolution where I can still use the locator plate and frame or do I have to return them and make a larger plate and frame? A buddy of mine said that a person can have a duplicate of their plate made,reduced and laminated and legally used is this true?

 

If your are talking about the billboard sized license plate that Maryland had before mid 2009 then you can take it to your local MVA and trade it for the new smaller size plate. I think I paid $20 for the exchange.

 

Go get a new tag from DMV. You'll even pick up a couple of horsepower just ny changing tags. LOL
