Default HD Adjustable Backrest

I'm interested in the possibility of getting the Harley brand adjustable backrest for my '09 Ultra Classic and would like to hear from users regarding it's installation and function. I know the $259.95 Harley unit requires a $49.95 kit specific to your particular model for installation. My questions are:

1. how difficult is the installation?
2. does seat removal become more difficult with the adjustable backrest installed?
3. Is the backrest removable without removing all the installation hardware and mechanisms?
4. In pictures and descriptions of the unit I see a cable and reference to an, "integrated gas spring". I assume the cable operates this "gas spring"...? Where does the cable mount?
5. Do you like your adjustable backrest?

Thanks,

VR

Well, since I got no response here I Googled and found info on other forums and biker sites. Mostly negative about the Harley adjustable backrest, easily broken, not adjustable enough. Much better reviews for the Utopia and Mustang backrests.

Sorry HogNot - - you'd do better posting these sorts of things in the Touring section. You'll get a lot of answers. To be honest I don't think most members actually know this section exists or at least they don't come over here very often ;-)! I'm a little jealous of where you live some times of the year. I lived in Durham for a while back in the 80s.
