If it's stiff, let some out. My 87FLH calls for 0LBs for one up riding, and a max of 20LBS, Newer bikes call for some air one up, and more 2 up, but do whats comfotable for you. Just don't try to put air in with an air compressor!
Rode from Arkansas to Atlanta, to DC to NY. Had 18lbs in my shocks and some of the larger bumps were downright painful. For my trip back down to Arkansas I reduced psi to 12 and it is almost plush. I am 6' and 190 lbs.
i contacted Harley last week in reference to the stiff shocks and bottoming out on large potholes/bumps. The service manager told me that HD is putting in the air shocks from the ultra classics and they are 1 inch taller but have more travel. They advised that they would be covered under warranty if you complain to harley. Has anyone done this?
