Default Throttle lock

So my throttle friction screw thing, wont hold the throttle at all. can these things strip or what?

did you change grips by any chance? Check to see if the shoe is still in the housing

nah they're stock. the nut just turns all the way till the lil spring on there is crushed, and still doesnt grab.

I just found out that my 'shoe' was broken. It's actually called a "Friction Spring" - should be called a friction shoe. Anyway, I checked my local Harley dealer and he had NINE in stock. That should tell you something. Pretty darned good bet that yours is broken too. They are just a little curved piece of plastic with a hole in the middle. That is where it breaks.
