Default Oil from Air Shock Valve..??

I was checking my air and had oil seep out of front and rear valve. I just purchased bike and it was sitting for a good while, 01 Ultra w/20K miles. It is holding air and seems fine but I wonder what that oil was from and how it got there, was a light greenish color. Have 15 psi in front and rear. Any ideas?

Your forks and shocks have oil in them. Air pressure will blow a little out the valve when you open it. Perfectly normal.

Great question, I should have asked it years ago. I have a 00EGC that does the same thing, when twisting off the cap a very small amount of oil will drip onto my finger tips. I thought it might be normal, but now I know.

It escapes with the air when checking the pressure... A small amount is normal...
