Default Brake Pad - Life?

What's the mileage expected on a bagger (05 Ultra) for front and rear brake pads? Thanks

TOTALLY depends on how you ride. Solo or two up? Lots of s$!t in the tour pack (no offence)? All over the brake or downshift to a stop?

I have 30,000 on mine. Changed the rear once, but I like to use the rear a lot. Fronts still look good.

Just replaced my rear tire yesterday, 15,013 miles. The pads looked a little thin. The manual says the minimum thickness is .040". Mine were at .100". I figured, what the hell, the wheel and caliper are off anyway, so I put in a new set. I measured the new pads just to have a reference, they were between .190-.195". I use more front brake than rear and don't ride very aggressively. Usually don't get into the rear brake much unless I'm riding 2-up.

Been a while since I've looked at the front, I'll check them this weekend.

I just replaced my rear pads at 25,600 miles. The inner pad was about two stops away from metal to metal. The outer pad was just a little bit thicker. I'd guess the fronts still have about 10k miles left on them but I'll replace them this coming winter if they don't need it before. I'd say I use my front and rears about the same amount. I suppose the extra rotor and pads on the front accounts for the less wear on them. I ride two up with alot of sh*t in the bags & tourpak about 95% of the time.

I replace mine when I do a tire change. 10k on rear, all brakes get new pads. Pads are cheap, life isn't!
