Default Comparing ride/handling of 09 Electra Glide...

Talked with someone at the dealership, not a salesman, and he mentioned how much different the ride was with the 09 vs the other
2 yrs 07/08 (with the 96").

How it handled better and was more responsive....

Of course the difference primarily being the frame and larger wheels.

So has anyone had a chance to compare these ?
and if so, how much of a difference did you notice ?

Any other comments concerning the frame....

09 is a great feel for the Touring chassis....

Strong, grounded, and tight is the easiest to describe it....

You can go a lot hotter into a curve with an 09 chassis than prior years..... Don't ask...

If you are toying around between an 09 and an 08... Chassis performance, the 09 wins hands down...

Powertrain wise, there is a small difference in the final gearing (Belt and sprocket)...

Default 09 Glide

I like my 09 a lot. much better handling. Less vibration.
Will Probably lower it with shorter shocks and front springs, or an electric rear air system, for parking and backing.
The jiffy stand will still be ok as the bike leans a lot when on it.

With my 06 Road Glide, I used to tippie toe around certain curves. With the 09 Road Glide, the fear is gone and this bike eats the curves right up.

I have had the same experience with my 09 EGS...and it's all good. I went from an 07 RK to my 09 EGS...man what a difference. Less vibration, great cornering and I can shift into 6th at about 60 mph without feeling like I'm lugging the engine. With my 07 I could not shift into 6th until I ws going at least 70 mph.

What I was wondering if you thought it was due to the frame change or the wheels..... etc

Thumbs up Its the whole package

I don't think any one thing does it by itself. There a lot of changes that add up to the better ride.

One day closer to spring
