Default To balance or not, that is the question

When I got my new front tire and wheel there were no weights on it, but they claimed that it had indeed been balanced. The wonder boy at the counter insisted that it must not have needed weight. What do you guys think?

I just recently had to make a balance decision on my custom. Had to put new tire on and with the shape of the wheel, no way I was going to use stick ons. I put 2 ounces of DynaBeads in it. They work like a charm. Since the balance of a tire will change over it's life and tread wear, these little mothers will keep the tire balanced throughout it's life. Worth a look at least? As for your question, it may have been close on balance, but how many tires are dead on when you put them on? I've never seen any.

That is also my thought, and it was ******** Daytona that did the work. They are full of crap when they are trying to tell the truth.

I also used the beads and like them. We used them or a similiar product on the semi's and we really liked it. It's worth dumping 2 oz in your tire just pull valve core and pour away with the small bottle and tube they furnish.

i second the dyna beads. We are a dealer for them and recommend using them on custom wheels. The main advantage is that the beads will adjust to the normal wear of your tire. As your tire wears down, the beads will adjust internally and will "self-balance" the wheel. Not only are they functional, they keep you from putting ugly weights on your wheels. It's pretty damn affordable and you can do it yourself. It's something you should really look into.
