200mm wide tire question - again
I did the search, but couldn't find a concise answer... so I'm going to ask here 'cause I know there are a bunch of you who know.
I recently acquired a 2004 night train. along with it I received a 9 inch wide rear fender with struts, brace, tail light and wiring harness. I also got a 2nd swing arm supposedly from an 06 night train (harley part number ending in -00) which appears to be exactly the same dimensions as the one currently on my bike. AND a relatively new 200mm rear wheel and tire assembly from an '07 night train. at this point, I'm not really interested in spending $100 to buy the books to see how much more I'd need to spend to finish off a wide tire swap. Hoping I can get a fairly clear and concise answer about what else I need.
I've been told that with what I have, I need a new caliper and I'm good to go. don't know how that can be the case if the 2nd swing arm is no wider than the one I have. do I need a new skinny pulley and belt along with the new caliper or is there actually a wider swingarm that fits the bike and the tire that along with a new caliper would get me closer to my objective? or is there something else that I haven't been told about that would suggest I'm better sticking with what I've got, selling the misc pieces I've got and spending that money on other fun things? or even sharing the bounty with my wife's bone stock 883L?
any and all insight will be appreciated.
Cheers!
