Just at the dealership and was talking to the parts guy, mentioned I was not impressed with the 200mm tires performance. Got talking and he mentioned they have been putting ceramic beads in the tires and these will help get 30 to 50% more wear out of the tire as they act as an internal balancer. He said truckers are now using these as well. First I have heard of this, it makes sense but got a funny feeling about it after. Anyone ever heard of this or is it just BS.

 

Yes, beads, Dyna beads is one brand, work for balancing tires. I doubt if you will get much, if any, more mileage out of your tires unless you are riding around on tires that are horribly out of balance to begin with.

I just found the beads for sale near me and bought them we used to use the same thing in semi front tires and it worked great. The mileage was increased due to staying balanced.
