Default best tire choice

This may be an old subject, but I am needing to replace the tires on my 06 Ultra. Was told that the Dunlops were especially made for this. But, I am searching for more opinions as to, if there are better choices. Have been told Avon is the best. My riding is mainly 2/up cruising distances. Any feedback?

I have heard bad things from multi people about dunlops. From what I hear, the main choice is between avon and metziler (sp?). Metziler is a little bit stiffer but holds up longer and avon is a sticker but shorter lifespan. But thats just what I have heard. Im sure if you use the search button there are TONS of threads about it...lol.

Take a good look at dunlop ELITE 3's these are not anything like old hd tires. I am on my second set ,1 set on a e-glide that had 7000 miles on them when sold and by far better than a metzler and 1 set on a fxr. They have very good wet and dry grip and wear better than any tire i have had yet. Shop around and they can be bought righ to.

I have an 07 RG. I just turned 21K miles on the orginal tires. The service guy said I was ready for a new back tire and still could get another 5-7K miles on the front. He also said it is very unusual to get that kind of milage out of these tires. I am putting on new OEM Dunlops this week. I weigh 195 lbs, normally ride solo and check tire pressure once a week. I run both tires at 40psi.

I changed to the Metz's on my bagger because of the rain groove tracking I experenced with the Dunlops. Love the Metz's
