disk brake rotor material?
2002 road king.
thinking of replacing my rotors. the front is worn and I have a dragging sound (not squealing) I need to check out. Anyway, looking on the internet I have seen rotors avaiable in differant materials. the polished stainless steel looks real nice. Does anyone have stainless steel rotors? Do you like them? How about chrome? Do you need a particualr material for brake pads with ss rotors? Also I have seen rotors north of $300[:'(] any sources for reasonably price parts? comments, wisecracks?
Thanks,
Jim

RE: disk brake rotor material?
I have polished stainless rotors. They look great and work fine.
I gave $169 for them from HogPro.
As for chrome. You can get a 2 piece rotor that has a chrome
inner and a polished stainless outer.I know Pro-One makes them.
They are in the 275-300 neighborhood as you said.
Here's a link to a standard polished rotor on e-bay that's
at $49 as of right now.E-bay-Polished Rotor
You can get Russell polished SS for right at $90-100 apiece.
Pro-One offers one in that range as well. It's a basic rotor
with no design of course.
As for pads a lot of people swear by Lyndall Z-pads.
