Rear Brake Bleeder Screw

Rear Brake Bleeder Screw
1st off, my login name is actully "LoneBiker". I made a typo! My question is fairly simple: "does the rear brake bleeding screw strip out the inside threads real easy when tightening it after I'veperformed the bleeding process?" or, Can I use some teflon Pipetape to take up the slack as a quick fix until I can replace the calipers? Thanks!

RE: Rear Brake Bleeder Screw
The bleederscrew bottoms out againsta hole in the caliper, shutting off the fluid. Take the bleeder all the way out and look at it - you'll see how it works. You'll haveto be on your own as to what to do... since giving such advice, with no less than 3 starving attorneys on every street corner, it's safe. [X(]

RE: Rear Brake Bleeder Screw
Absolutely correct! The rear brake Bleeder screw was bottoming out and not sealing. Nothing else worked to fix it. (i.e. teflon Pipe tape, brass washer, or injector washer) Was about to do the thread chaser, but, I happened to have a couple of spare calipers in my garage. So, from the newest caliper that was off of a front brake, I just popped it in and it worked! Looks to be made of brass? Strange though, the old one worked when installed in the doner caliper! I just Love my Harley! Time for a ride! Thanks for the good tech info! LoneBiker
