I have a Custom 2000 Softail Springer.. not sure if the frame is a 99 or 2000. How can I tell? The gas tank is split down the middle.

1981 to 2000 model big twins
Single letter in the 10th digit designates the model year.
1981 - B 1986 - G 1991 - M 1996 - T
1982 - C 1987 - H 1992 - N 1997 - V
1983 - D 1988 - J 1993 - P 1998 - W
1984 - E 1989 - K 1994 - R 1999 - X
1985 - F 1990 - L 1995 - S 2000 - Y

 

Where on the frame is the Vin?

 

Should be on the neck up front between upper and power tubes...

 

Or on your ownership!!

 

Well I guess the Bike is not a Harley frame, no Vin number could be found.. The title states ASVE so that means custom.. the title states the vin as ULT6891ST00004031. The frame looks like a stock Harley Softail.. any other clues to figure out what year the "custom" frame is a copy of.. there is a difference in parts for a 99- frame VS 2000+ frame. Dont want to order the wrong fenders or other parts.
