Street Glide front fender 21"
Have a 2007 Street Glide.. Looking into buying a new set of wheels for the bike. I have been seeing bikes with the 21" front wheel. Have had some friends put them on Street Glides and they had the tire rub the front fender and leave a bubble in the paint on the back side of the front fender. Was curious if anyone has had this problem and if so how have they fixed it or if anyone has heard of it and found a solution. We tried making the holes bigger on the front fender, haven't ridin it yet so not sure if its going to work. Just don't want to spend money on the 21" if it ain't ever going to work.

Some tires will hit, some wont.Depends on tires used and factory frt fender setup. Some require the aft side to be lifted. Some also need attach holes opened up to achieve this clearance.Tape a couple 3/8ths nutsacross tire, held on by tape and try spinning wheel. If it hits you will need more clearance for tire growth.

I have a 2008 Street Glide and have just purchase a 21 inch Dominator Wheel and Metzler tire from HogPro. I had to drill out the back holes on my fender to keep mine from rubbing, I used a 1/2 inch drill bit which broke the spacer off on the inside of the fender. I replaced them with washers and now I have plenty of clearance. I taped a 1/4 inch rope around the diameter of the tire and gave it a spin to see if it rubbed.

It is VERY common for the fender to need to be adjusted for this modification. Most any dealer who has installed or sold 21" wheels for any period of time will tell you that. If someone says it isn't necessary, they are misguided. About 50% of everyone I know who has done a 21" needed to slightly adjust the front fender. It's no big deal to do, and most would even say just do if to be safe vs. sorry.

120/70/21 for the metzeler me880 front tires. since quite a few of yall say you had to modify the fender holes, i agree that it is better safe than sorry. like gliderxxx said, its really not a big deal and it's only a few bolts to take that fender off. thanks
